These two days I’m racing. I will do 3 races and they are part of my USATF Association Meet. I hope to medal!
6/10/23 Before the race
Today is the day of my race day. I have two different races today. Those are the 200m and the 1500 racewalk. If I get in the top 8 for either race, I will go to my regionals. If I get top 5 there, I go to the Junior Olympics. Pretty cool, right? For the 200m, I do not expect to get top 8. But for the 1500 racewalk, I will win (I’m the only person in my division to sign up).
6/10/23 After the race
I won at my racewalk (as expected) and I didn’t do well in my 200m (also as expected). I got a PR (Personal Record) in the 200m though, so it wasn’t terrible.
6/11/23 Before the race
Today is another race day, but today I only am doing the 800m. This is the same track meet as yesterday’s meet, and this is another race I don’t expect to get top 8 in. Still, I hope to make it.
6/11/23 After the race
I did amazing at the 800m and got another PR. During the race, I went out too fast and lost a few spots later. I still got 7th out of 14 and qualified for the regionals. I ran as hard as I could.
6/23/23 Before the race
Today is my regionals and I’m about to race 2 people better than me and 2 worse. If I don’t get disqualified, I will go to the Junior Olympics for the 1500 meter racewalk.
6/23/23 After the race
Today I beat both people worse than me and one that was supposedly better. It turns out three of the 5 of us were disqualified! Luckily, none were me. The 3 I beat were the ones disqualified so now me and the gold medalist are going to the JUNIOR OLYMPICS! Currently, he is 2nd in the US and I am 4th, as USATF racewalkers!
7/15/23 Before the race
I’m taking a break from my normal races. The Junior Olympics are in 2 weeks but today I will racewalk in the California State Games!
7/15/23 After the race
I got second place in the race, but that was because there were no judges. The kid who beat me was cheating
7/24/23 Before the race
I’m seeded third and have met a few of my opponents. This race is going to be exciting, and I have no idea how it will turn out.
7/24/23 After the race
I have never raced so hard in my life, and my time was a PR, 9:34. At the end, I beat a kid by one .11 of a second, making me in third. After, the kid in second was disqualified, and I got second in the Junior Olympics!
